Where the numbers come from

Distances published here are great-circle distances, measured along an arc across the globe and rounded to the nearest kilometre. They do not match a road route or a real flight plan, both of which are always longer.

Area, population and position data come from Wikidata. When a figure shifts from one season to the next — a flight record, a route opened or closed — it is dated in the article.

Where the photos come from

Every photo in the game and on this site comes from Wikimedia Commons, under a free licence. Each one is credited with its author and licence on the page where it appears. They are ground-level views, chosen one by one: no satellite imagery, no isolated monuments.
